Route 66 Artworks

My name is Seta, friends of mine just call me like that. I live in a very lovely place called Jogjakarta, Indonesia. I love to collect old things just like books, magazines and many things that’s related to something oldies or historical. In general, i’m very interested in history.Truly, i’m not a professional artist. I just started making such artworks this year (2004). But, i’m starting to be so interested in Art. I feel better with this. I hope this is gonna always make progress to me. Someday, i hope i’m gonna be a professional one.In the process of making artworks, i force myself to always use garbage or unuseful or “found abandoned” things. To me, These materials is an analogy of many scattered abandoned historical things that can be found worldwide. I’m trying very hard to find ways on how to convert the word garbage into something useful and artistic.

Artworks themed Old Route 66 is my first artwork project using garbage as its material. So far, i’ve completed 4 titles, raising the most updated condition of Old Route 66. They are “The Last Pub/66 bikers”, “They Are Not Victim And Criminal Of A Revolution”, “Help Me!!! – No Destruction Please!!!” and ”Memory Motel”. Currently, I’m starting the fifth project taking the story of an old abandoned café located somewhere in New Mexico State.

These artworks is gonna be my never ending support to any constructive historical projects worldwide. I always try to break any perception that deemed historical outcomes just like garbage (because they can’t do their original functions no more). To me, there are still a lot of benefit we can obtain from a history. I would be very glad to any input, comment, critiques and discussion. Thank you.
